SENTINEL

Sentinel provides an Account/Counterparty aware orchestration and scheduling system. It allows the configuration of a true Service Oriented Architecture combining different systems such as a margin engine, risk engine, reporting platform. Sentinel is being used by Syncova’s Prime Broker clients to fully coordinate all the systems in their environment into a seamless process flow.

Account Aware

Most standard orchestration systems are only aware of ‘Tasks’ or ‘Jobs’ but not aware of the scope that each Job is to be run for. Sentinel provides the full facilities of the Syncova Account hierarchy allowing Tasks and Batches to be configured to run for certain sets of Accounts, or run on an as needed basis.

Easily Extensible

Sentinel can be easily extended and customised through the configuration Custom Batch Stages which can be defined via a maintenance screens in the main application. This makes it easy to add new dependencies or change the task flow.

Orchestration

Sentinel can be used to configure Tasks that invoke processes on different systems, across different servers and databases. Sentinel provides full support for Task Dependencies, and offers the ability to combine Tasks into ‘Batches’ for easier review and execution.

Scheduling

Sentinel provides time or event based scheduling so Tasks or Batches can be configured to start at certain defined times, or when an event occurs such as a file arrival, completion of upstream task, etc.

Activity Log Review

Sentinel uses the rich activity logging mechanism in the core MATRIX tier to provide a fully detailed activity log for every Task from the GUI.
